A BIT ABOUT ME
Certified Life Coach and Mom of an autistic son
Hi there! My name is Allison Smith and I am so happy you found my website! This website was built with love to help anyone who is struggling with autism. I have an extensive background in healthcare and life coaching (here are my credentials- RT, RDCS, RVT, CLC) But it wasn't until my son started showing signs of autism, that I truly honed in on my love for helping people heal. When my son was 18 months old, he lost his speech along with some motor skills. He began having self injurious behaviors, changes in the environment sent him spiraling, he was in his own world, and he began stimming for hours. I knew in my heart this was autism. After lots of prayer and searching, I found the GAPS diet which proved to be lifechanging for our family. Within three weeks of implementing the GAPS diet, my son quit stimming, his mood improved drastically, and he began to be more engaged with us. We knew we were on to something! So, we reached out to a functional medicine practitioner who suggested testing and detox. We did the testing, we implemented the supplements for detox, we detoxed every aspect of our home, and continued our diet. Within 4 weeks, my son's speech returned and he now is echoing over 200 words! He is excelling in his speech and ABA therapy, and our psychiatrist feels very certain he will be able to attend a neurotypical classroom by the time he reaches Kindergarten. I have learned several lessons along this journey of recovering our son of autism, but the greatest lesson I have learned is that autism is not just one battle...it is a war. A war that must be fought with discipline, with a plan, and with guidance. That's where I come in. My experience with life coaching (as well as being in the trenches of autism) have helped me create coaching plans and courses that I can pass on to you. Let me be your ally in this war.xoxo- Allison
